The 5th Asia CCUS Network Forum

Completed
The 5th Asia CCUS Network Forum

Wed, 10 September 2025

The Asia CCUS Network (ACN) was established in 2021 to promote carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS), as well as carbon recycling, in support of decarbonisation, recovery, and economic growth. It aims to foster partnerships that enable knowledge sharing, the exchange of experience, and research collaboration across the East Asia Summit (EAS) region.

The ACN comprises ASEAN countries, Japan, the United States, and Australia as advisory group members, along with 300 supporting members. These include academic and research institutions (50), financial and banking institutions (16), private and public sector entities (208), and regional/international organisations and initiatives (26). The network has published various studies on CCS and CCUS.

The 5th ACN Forum will primarily focus on cross-border CCS, addressing the development of international CCS projects and advancements in carbon recycling. As part of the forum, the ACN will present the results of recent studies and host panel discussions centred on the commercialisation of CCS and CCU among its stakeholders.

The 5th ACN Forum is co-hosted by the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) of Indonesia, SKK Migas, and the Indonesia Centre of Excellence for CCS and CCUS.

During the opening session, remarks will be delivered by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of Indonesia, the President of ERIA, and the Ambassador of Japan to Indonesia. These will be followed by congratulatory speeches from VIPs representing ACN member countries.

Following the opening session, ERIA, METI Japan, MEMR, SKK Migas, and the Indonesia Centre of Excellence for CCS and CCUS will hold a press conference to issue a press release summarising the forum.
